The Sudanese National Observatory for Human Rights expresses its deep condemnation and strong denunciation of the drone attack that targeted a humanitarian aid truck in North Darfur State, which resulted in the destruction of shelter kits designated for more than 1,300 displaced families in the Tawila area—an act that constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the principles of civilian and humanitarian protection.

The Observatory affirms that targeting humanitarian assistance and obstructing its delivery to affected communities exacerbates the suffering of thousands of families living under extremely harsh humanitarian conditions, and endangers the lives of civilians who are in urgent need of food, shelter, and essential care.

It further stresses that attacks on relief convoys and humanitarian workers amount to a grave crime that requires accountability and justice, as such actions undermine humanitarian efforts aimed at saving lives and alleviating the impact of the conflict.
